As you may have noticed outside of a few pre-scheduled posts I took January off from posting. Life just got a little bit hectic and I needed a bit of a break. Now that I'm rested and recharged I'm back and looking forward to a new year full of books!
To wrap last year up I'm going to go over my to 5 Favorite books/ Series of 2022!

Number 1!
Ascendance of a Bookworm by Miya Kazuki.
This is a light novel series that I got completely obsessed with. It is an ikesaki story (where someone died in our world and is reincarnated/ wakes up in in another world) That is following Myne, a young girl who is absolutely obsessed with books and will stop at nothing to create her own. While making the world a little more comfortable along the way.
It is an incredibly fun story and I love all of the friends and inventions she makes during her book filled rampages.

Number 2!
The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang
This is a historical fantasy set in a fictionalized China. Following Rin a war orphan as she enters a prestigious military academy. While she is there she has to endure the internal politics just to survive. Now as war is breaking out will she honor her teachers lessons or will she do what she believes needs to be done?
This book has a ton of trigger warnings that apply to it and I highly encourage looking them up if you need them. That being said the book is fantastic and really well written and I highly recommend it to anyone who can handle the darker content.

Number 3!
Sing Me Forgotten by Jessica Olson
A gender-bent magic filled Phantom of the Opera retelling. It is filled with music and romance and intrigue. Where Isda is hidden away due to her magical ability but when she meets Emeric she begins to long to be out in the world.
I really love that the main character toes the line between good and evil.

Number 4!
Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan
Xingyin has spent her entire life on the moon where her mother had been banished. Her existence was hidden from the Celestial emperor until one fateful day she must flee from the only home she's ever know. Now she is determined to free her mother and live her life in the light.
The writing is absolutely beautiful and this is one of the only books that I've read recently that does a love triangle well.

Number 5!
The Tea Dragon Society by Katie O'Neill.
A magical world where special dragons grow tea leaves. The people who take care of them and the friendships that are formed in this beautiful graphic novel.
Absolutely adorable. The art is stunning and the story is absolutely precious.
