Growing up on the moon, Xingyin is accustomed to solitude, unaware that she is being hidden from the feared Celestial Emperor who exiled her mother for stealing his elixir of immortality. But when Xingyin’s magic flares and her existence is discovered, she is forced to flee her home, leaving her mother behind. Determined to help free her mother from her prison she lives in the Celestial empire facing challenge after challenge.

This is a beautifully written story. The language used draws you in and captures your attention. From the character and environment to the descriptions of clothing and weapons everything feels incredibly real.

The mythology is woven beautifully throughout and the fact that Xingyin takes after her father and becomes an amazing archer. The monsters that she faces as part of the Celestial Army and her journey to find the dragons.

A love triangle is almost never a good thing, except for when it hits and this hits. Both relationships and characters are extremely well developed and both have their pros and cons that either truly could win Xingyin's heart. I love her dynamic with both of them they bring out and understand different parts of her.

This book is wonderful and I highly recommend this book to any fantasy fans especially if they enjoy mythology.
