We all know how the story goes, girl gets dressed up by a magic fairy, goes to a ball, loses a shoe and ends up with a prince. Well... kind of in this retelling Cinderella's stepfamily is a little less evil and the ball is reality TV, oh and she designed the shoes herself.

This was our book club pick for the month of January.

This was a pretty cute little romcom that makes a fun twist with a classic story. I really enjoyed the plus sized representation. Cindy was a really fun protagonist, her sass was wonderful. She handled the instances of fatphobia really well.

Since this was a Disney owned project they did a great job with refences to the animated movie. Included the last name being Tremaine, her triplet siblings having the mice names and the step sisters.

Overall the book was personally a miss for me, primarily because I didn't like the reality tv show aspects. The romance also felt like it didn't have a ton of development and by the end of the book they barely knew each other.
