Book Buying Habits Tag!

This is a little different from my usual content but I thought it could be fun! And possibly put me into a bit of a spiral about how much I spend on books.... we shall see.

~Book Buying Habits Tag~

~Where do you buy your books?~

Where ever I find them. Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Half Priced Books and one of my local book shops Prairie Lights are some of my most commonly used.

~Do you ever pre-order books and if so, do you do this instore or online?~

I very rarely preorder books, if I do its usually online.

~On average, how many books do you buy a month?~

It really depends, usually only 2-3 if that. Some months I defiantly go a little harder than others.

~Do you use your local library?~

Of course! Especially for my daughter (buying children's books is an entirely separate hobby in and of itself.) But it's a great way to check out series that I'm curious about but not sure if I want to make the commitment to.

~If so, how many books can you/ do you borrow at a time?~

My library doesn't have a limit. For myself usually only 2 or 3 because I'm terrible at remembering to return them.

~What is your opinion on library books?~

They are amazing. They give people access to stories and knowledge that might otherwise be inaccessible.

~How do you feel about charity shops/ second hand books?~

Love them. You can find hidden gems that you didn't know existed or books that you wanted to read for a good price. It's good to keep books in circulation and with as many people as possible.

~Do you keep your read & TBR pile together/ on the same bookshelf or not?~

If it's part of a series yes, if not I try and keep them separate to remind myself to read them.

~Do you plan to read all the books you own?~

At the time of them being bought absolutely. We have one or two that were purchased for my husband that I don't know if I'll pick up. However I won't count it out.

~What do you do with books that you feel you'll never read/ felt you didn't enjoy?~

I'll pass them on, sell them or donate them.

~Have you ever donated books?~

A lot while I was in high school actually. I don't re-read a ton so I'd donate books to my high school library. I still like to donate books to local thrift shops or put them in little free libraries.

~Have you ever been on a book-buying ban?~

Yes, specifically manga. I may have gotten to the point where I had 30+ ongoing series and I was told I needed to stop. Also there are just times when new books aren't in the budget, and my TBR pile giving me a side eye.

~Do you feel that you buy too many books?~

Nope, not at all. Even if I don't end up reading them, I can pass them on to friends or gift them to my sister who's a teacher, or put them in the little free library's around town.
