The Thief Kingdom is a place hidden within the world of Aadlior. Many whisper of its existence, but few have found this place, where magic and pleasure abound. There, the mysterious Thief King reigns supreme with the help of the Mousai, a trio of revered and feared sorceresses. The youngest of the Mousai, Larkyra, has finally come of age to go on an adventure all her own. This isn't quite what she expected.

This was our book club book for the month of July and I must say I liked it quite a bit. It's a fantasy novel that is light on the amount of magic but a good story none-the-less.
Our main character was Larkyra who has the ability to use her voice to either hurt or heal. At the beginning she's extremely afraid/ tightly controlling of it. I really like how she learned to come to accept her ability.
Darius was our main love interest. He's a solid guy if kind of oblivious. With a troubled past and a determination to help his people he begrudgingly accepts Larkyra coming to his land... in the worst way possible in his opinion.
The Thief King was one of my favorite parts. He runs the shadowy underground using the Mousai and Achak as enforcers to maintain the order of his kingdom. I really hope we get to learn more as the series goes on.
Over all this was a pretty solid start to a series. I did want more of the magic but hopefully now that the world is established we will get more from the upcoming books. The Mousai needed more time to shine in my opinion. I look forward to learning more about the other two sisters.
