All families are messy. Some are disasters. Natalie Walker hasn't spoken to her siblings in 15 years. Why you might ask? She is the reason they both went to prison. Now their mother has died and the only way for the family home to stay in the family is if all of the siblings come together.

I picked this up because it was July's big library read. Personally I liked it quite a bit. I found Natalie to be extremely relatable, and I loved the dynamic between her and her siblings and her nephew.
It was interesting to see the spectrum of partners that the two Walker sisters chose. Lynn and her abusive husband and Natalie and Paul who seems perfect on paper but may not be all that he's cracked up to be.
This book is very heavily themed on forgiveness and the consequences of split second decisions. All of the characters were deeply affected by the decision Natalie made and living with it shaped who they became as adults.
