Jane Cockram's debut thriller takes you to a country manor with a failed influencer, family mystery and an unsuspected romance. Releasing on October 22nd.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my free and honest review.

This book follows Miranda, a failed influencer who heads to her mother's family home to learn about her family after her life had become a bit of a disaster. Keeping her true identity under wraps she becomes the nanny for her three young cousins. As she spends time with them she learns that life at Barnsley House isn't as picture perfect as it had appeared.

I had an extremely hard time getting into this book. The main character Miranda did not resonate with me. She is a very selfish person, and very much does things purely out of self interest. Such as abandoning a job she's about to start to run off to Barnsley House.

The story also had multiple narratives woven in, parts of the House of Brides, her Aunt Daphne's letter to her Aunt Elizabeth, and Miranda's story. It jumps between the three making the story hard to follow.

All in all not a book I recommend, hard to follow and a for me unrelatable main character made this a hard book to read.
