A tale of friendship of two places that are separated by thousands of miles and an ocean.

This is a book that was found in my local little free library.

Following the story of how Iowa and Yamanashi became sister states due to mutual acts of goodwill and aid. In both English and Japanese.

Despite living in Iowa my entire life I had no idea that we are a sister state with Yamanashi prefecture in Japan. This is the type of history I wish we'd been taught in school.

My only qualm is I'd have loved a pronunciation guide for the Japanese words that are sprinkled in.

A super cute and informative read that I highly recommend for all Iowans, and anyone who's interested in some positive history.
