For my first review on this blog I decided to choose one that was recommended to me by a friend on GoodReads. Thus I chose Rhapsodic

It is the first book in The Bargainer's series by Laura Thalassa. Set in a world where paranormal and normal intertwine you have the Bargainer. The king of the night to the fae, a man that can get you anything... for a price.

Seven years ago Callypso a young siren

met the Bargainer and ended up with 322 favors that she needs to pay back. Now he's come to collect.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters are well written and rounded out. Callie (Callypso) and Desmond (the bargainer) have a rich history that is told through flashbacks through the book. The favor that brought them together and the ones that created the relationship that binds them together.

One of the driving forces of the plot is the fact that warriors from Desmond's kingdom are going missing then returning in glass coffins pregnant. As Callie is a private eye with special skills he enlists her help as a way to start repaying her favors.

There is romance, there is intrigue, and action. A book that will make you eagerly want two dive into the next two books.

“And the mountains may rise and fall, and the sun might wither away, and the sea may claim the land and swallow the sky. But you will always be mine. And the stars might fall from the heavens, and night might cloak the earth, but until darkness dies, I will always be yours.”
